Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) Resources for Men in Saskatoon, SK

A male inquirer, experiencing intimate partner violence, contacted 211 via text. They were afraid of their partner finding the referrals. The Service Navigator asked if the inquirer was safe at the time of texting, and they were. The Navigator and the inquirer decided that the Navigator would email the inquirer’s friend to prevent the abuser from finding the referrals. The partner was controlling texts, emails and calls. The Navigator empathized with the inquirer’s emotions, and the inquirer let the Navigator know that she made them feel safe.

An email was sent to the inquirer’s trusted friend. Resources were provided, including the Violence/Abuse Specialized Website via the 211 Saskatchewan Website, the Intimate Partner Violence Service Directory (Provincial), the Provincial Association of Transition Houses and Services of Saskatchewan, and the Saskatoon Crisis Intervention Service. The inquirer and their friend were encouraged to contact 211 again if they needed more help finding services.
